Role focus - Darlington Children's Services are looking for an experienced Child and Family Social Worker for the post of Advanced Social Work Practitioner - This post is for an initial 6 month period, and may be extended as the substantive post holder if currently seconded to an alternative role within the council - As an Advanced Practitioner you would - - Hold a caseload of children with complex needs who will primarily require support under CP/CLA and Care proceedings - - Provide reflective supervision to a small number of newly qualified Social Worker's or alternatively qualified Family Help Lead Practitioners - - Deputise for the Team Manager - this can include providing advice and support to members of the team, managing the intake duty decision making and case allocation direction and chairing strategy or PLO meetings - The post if 37 hours per week, the council offers blended working with an office base at the Town Hall and the ability to work from home as per diary needs - Duty days are all office based and allocated workers are expected to respond to their own urgent matters so the applicant would need to have the ability to travel/respond to these needs as they arise - All IT/Remote working equipment will be provided Candidate profile - Social Work England registration or confirmed eligibility where the role requires qualified social work practice. - Relevant social care experience in a UK local authority, community, safeguarding or provider setting. - Right to work, professional references and role-specific compliance before placement. - Children's services experience, including statutory, safeguarding, assessment or family support work where required. Pay and representation - Public rate shown: GBP 27.03/hr PAYE. - Verovian will confirm availability, compliance position, location fit and consent before any client submission. - Client identity and full submission details are handled through the recruiter-led process.
