Role focus - Darlington offer hybrid working, with an office base at the Town Hall, Darlington and the ability to work from home pending your own diary commitments to ensure that the needs of families allocated to you remain met - The post is 37 hours per week, a flexible approach to working hours would be needed to ensure you can support the families allocated to you - Any hours worked over can be claimed back via TOIL with agreement from the Team Manager - The post is within the Assessment & Safeguarding Service - The team support children and families from the point that a referral requires social work support and intervention - The case load would be a variety of Child and Families Assessments, Children in Need, Child Protection, Children in our care and some public/private care proceedings - Darlington is a small local authority who practice using a relational practice framework, we have good relationships with partner organisations across the Local Authority - The team have direct support integrated into the service from targeted/intensive family support and a Family Group Conference Service Candidate profile - Social Work England registration or confirmed eligibility where the role requires qualified social work practice. - Relevant social care experience in a UK local authority, community, safeguarding or provider setting. - Right to work, professional references and role-specific compliance before placement. - Children's services experience, including statutory, safeguarding, assessment or family support work where required. Pay, rota and consent
