Role focus - We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Worker to work alongside our Children in Care teams, providing practical and relationship-based support to children and young people in care - The role will focus on helping children to maintain stability within their placements, strengthen relationships with carers and family members where appropriate, and ensure their voices are heard in planning and decision-making - Working closely with social workers, foster carers, residential providers and partner agencies, the Family Worker will undertake direct work with children, support family time arrangements, assist with life story and identity work, and help address emerging issues before they escalate into placement disruption - By providing timely intervention, practical support and consistent relationship-based practice, the Family Worker will play a key role in preventing placement breakdowns, improving outcomes for children, and enabling social workers to focus on statutory responsibilities and care planning Candidate profile - Relevant social care experience in a UK local authority, community, safeguarding or provider setting. - Right to work, professional references and role-specific compliance before placement. - Children's services experience, including statutory, safeguarding, assessment or family support work where required. Pay, rota and consent
Published pay/rate: GBP 14.13/hr PAYE. Working pattern: 2026-07-26 to 2026-10-25; 08:30-17:00. Setting: Local authority, community social care or provider service.
