Mental Health & Behaviour Change Practitioner - Middlesbrough in Middlesbrough, United Kingdom. This temporary Social UK opportunity is being handled by Verovian Social for a local authority or social care client. Role focus - Purpose of the Post: To deliver structured, evidence-based psychological interventions for service users within the substance use service experiencing low-level emotional and psychological barriers to change - This role also includes mentoring and providing reflective practice oversight for two trainee practitioners and contributing to innovation through the Behaviour Change Toolkit and wider applied research aligned with the national 10-year drug strategy - Duties and Responsibilities: • Deliver structured 1:1 and group psychological interventions (e.g - CBT-informed, MI, DBT-skills, psychoeducation) - • Assess and formulate low-intensity mental health/emotional needs of service users and plan appropriate brief interventions - Identify and escalate more complex or higher-risk cases to appropriate services Candidate profile - Relevant social care experience in a UK local authority, community, safeguarding or provider setting. - Right to work, professional references and role-specific compliance before placement. Pay and representation - Public rate shown: GBP 17.46/hr PAYE. - Verovian will confirm availability, compliance position, location fit and consent before any client submission. - Client identity and full submission details are handled through the recruiter-led process.
Role scope
- Support assessment, risk formulation and legal-framework decisions within role scope.
- Work with multidisciplinary colleagues, families and services with clear documentation.

Candidate profile

Pay, rota and consent
Published pay/rate: GBP 17.46/hr PAYE. Working pattern: 2026-09-13 to 2027-07-22; 09:00-17:00. Setting: Local authority, community social care or provider service. Before representation, Verovian will confirm pay or rate, working pattern, location expectations, client context and what information you consent to share.
