Specialist Family Support Worker Band 8 - Darlington in Darlington, United Kingdom. Role focus - Darlington offer a blended working approach (induction period would be office based for initial 4 weeks), where staff can manage their own diary around ensuring that visits and the direct work with family is completed but can then choose to spend office time either at home or within the Town Hall - All remote working equipment is provided - Post will require post hold to have a valid driving licence and a car user - Darlington are excited to be piloting the Family Help model and are recruiting for alternatively qualified workers to work with families who need support under the remit of child in need - This role will include practitioners undertaking children and families assessments and case holding children in need including the completion of CIN Reviews and direct work with children and families - There will be regular multi-agency working - A induction to the role will be offered with mentoring and coaching available to support the transition into this type of role, past experience of working with children/families is essential so that candidates have developed key skills or areas of interest where their support can be directly beneficial to the families that we work with - This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity Candidate profile - Relevant social care experience in a UK local authority, community, safeguarding or provider setting. - Right to work, professional references and role-specific compliance before placement. - Children's services experience, including statutory, safeguarding, assessment or family support work where required. Pay, rota and consent
Published pay/rate: GBP 16.62/hr PAYE. Working pattern: 2026-09-14 to 2026-12-31; 08:30-17:00. Setting: Local authority, community social care or provider service. Before representation, Verovian will confirm pay or rate, working pattern, location expectations, client context and what information you consent to share.
